Supplies of Pharmaceutical products including Prescription Only Medicines
Due to regulatory requirements, pharmaceutical products are subject to specific supply and return conditions.
Supply of Pharmaceutical Products
Pharmaceutical items are supplied only to duly authorised medical professionals who:
- Hold an approved credit account with Northumbrian Medical Supplies Ltd
- Have provided full details of their professional status
- Have been verified against the appropriate statutory register
- We reserve the right to request updated professional verification at any time.
We are only able to supply products appropriate to the formulary applicable to the purchaser’s registered profession.
We reserve the right to refuse supply where eligibility cannot be verified.
Returns of Pharmaceutical Products
Pharmaceutical products are NOT accepted for return except in the limited circumstances outlined below.
Returns to Correct an Error in Delivery
Where an error has occurred in delivery or ordering:
- We must be notified within three working days of receipt
- Goods must be returned within this timeframe
Returned products must be accompanied by documentation stating:
- Product name
- Batch number
- Expiry date
- Reason for return
- Invoice reference
All goods must be in their original, unopened condition, with no evidence of damage, marking, tampering or seal interference.
If these conditions are not met, goods will not be eligible for return.
Manufacturer or Batch Recalls
Where a product or batch recall has been instigated by the manufacturer or licence holder, returns will be handled strictly in accordance with the instructions issued by the product licence holder.
Returned goods must be accompanied by documentation including:
- Name of returning party
- Quantity returned
- Batch number
- Expiry date
Credit will only be issued once authorised by the manufacturer or licence holder.
Faulty or Allegedly Faulty Products
If a pharmaceutical product is believed to be faulty:
- Notify us immediately so the information can be provided to the manufacturer
- Goods must be safely packaged to prevent spillage, contamination or harm
Returned items must include documentation stating:
- Name of returning party
- Quantity
- Batch number
- Expiry date
- Invoice reference
- Full details of the issue
All suspected faults may be subject to manufacturer investigation before credit or replacement is issued.
General Conditions
Due to patient safety and regulatory compliance requirements:
- Pharmaceutical products cannot be returned due to change of mind
- Temperature-controlled items cannot be returned once dispatched
- Surplus or incorrectly ordered stock cannot be accepted
These conditions ensure compliance with UK medicines regulations and the integrity of the pharmaceutical supply chain.
