Joanne and her husband and fellow director, Ross Tomkins, took ownership of the business in late 2019.
With years of experience in the healthcare industry, the successful partnership also co-own a wider group of successful healthcare businesses.
Joanne is passionate about providing an outstanding service to satisfy customers’ needs and address their challenges.
By assembling a bank of professionals to support customers, Joanne is pleased to be able to offer a high quality and knowledgeable service to health and care-related businesses.

Ross is owner and director alongside Joanne here at Normedica.
Together, they are united in their belief that providing exceptional service and the highest product quality builds lasting relationships with clients and is the key to Normedica’s growing reputation.
After a decade in healthcare settings as a physiotherapist, Ross saw an opportunity to provide end-to-end services for healthcare professionals through Normedica.
Proud of his North East roots, Ross is motivated to provide an exceptional service to ensure the highest quality medical equipment is supplied at the right time to organisations across the region and the whole of the UK.
Rebecca
Head of Procurement
The office wouldn’t be complete without a Rebecca, and this one is no exception!
With an eclectic taste in music, a constant craving for creativity and a slight witchy vibe, she keeps everyone entertained with her stories and terrible dad jokes. Someone has to!
Between netballing, singing in a choir, writing a blog about the trials of being a 40 something and starting a freelance writing business, she definitely comes to work for a rest!
Rebecca joined us almost 4 years ago in an admin role and has worked her way up to her current position in procurement alongside a little dabbling on the writing/marketing side of the business as well. With a head full of knowledge, she is hard pushed to remember her own name sometimes, but thinks nothing of reeling off a product code straight from memory.
Whatever you need, this is the girl to ask. She will get it for you or die trying!

Louise
Office and Sales Manager
Dog lover extraordinaire, Billy idol super fan and married mum of one – Louise joined us back in December 2021 and quickly became an integral part of the team.
Given the nickname Lady Louise by a member of the team, she is our resident glamour puss, and whether she wears a hoodie or an evening dress, she always looks amazing!
As a mum to six beautiful dogs, her life is anything but chilled. If she isn’t walking them through the woods or snapping photos of them to put on the whatsapp group because they have done something cute, she is taking it easy with a pink G&T and her husband, on holiday or shopping!
Louise is our sales and office manager and believe me when I tell you that this lady could sell ice to an Eskimo. If you find yourself buying an extra three bags of cotton wool balls despite having a cupboard full of them, you have most likely spoken to Louise.

JAMES
Delivery Driver
James has worked loyally for Normedica for over 14 years now.
James’ key responsibilities include delivering Normedica’s quality medical supplies out to local customers in the North East and looking after the warehouse.
In his spare time, James is a keen gardener and also loves walking and going out to eat in restaurants.
